Shown to the right are recent technology feeds made by Epagentry to Twitter. We would be pleased if you would follow Epagentry on Twitter.
Since its founding in 2006, Twitter is evolving from solely a social networking technology to more of a mainstream, corporate news communication platform.
Some remain concerned about Twitter's limitation of 140 character news bursts, or "tweets". However, if information requires more than 140 characters to communicate, it's easy to link to an external site, which has the positive outcome of driving more people to your web site or blog. And forcing the headline into 140 characters puts an emphasis on adding value and "getting to the point".
Many corporations in 2009 are beginning to incorporate Twitter into their technology suite of tools and have not yet taken the next step of making Twitter technology a main focus of their communication efforts. That's understandable, as Twitter is still evolving in the commercial marketplace.
However, thousands of smart, forward-thinking organizations are already benefiting from this technology, and gaining impetus and an experience base for future roll-outs of enhanced Twitter communications with clients and employees.
